About Earluma
Earluma is an iPhone app that corrects the sound of your headphones, model by model. On iOS 27 it appears as an audio output in Control Center, so music from Spotify, Apple Music or any other app passes through it, gets an EQ computed from lab measurements of that exact headphone model, and plays on the headphones. Listeners can switch between the original and the corrected sound at the same volume, adjust the result to their taste with a quick A-or-B test, and use extras like a virtual room, smart loudness compensation and a voice mode for podcasts. The generic correction is free, and audio is processed only on the iPhone.

How it works
- Earluma uses the Media Device extension in iOS 27 to appear as a local audio output.
- Corrections are computed from published lab measurements of each headphone model and applied as a minimum-phase FIR filter.
- The Original/Earluma switch is level-matched, so the comparison is fair.
- Space offers Normal, Crossfeed (bs2b) and a Virtual room built on the MIT KEMAR HRTF.
- Loudness compensation follows the ISO 226 equal-loudness contours.
